Prayer Days
We usually hold two prayer days a year, one in the spring and one in the autumn, at a venue away from the church premises. These are days for anyone who wants to take time out to worship, pray, contemplate and spend time with other Christians and with God.
Watch this space for details of the next one!
28th - 29th March 2021 - 24 Hours of Prayer
Journeying from Wilderness to "What's Next?"
Join us as we pray for the current situation in our world, our country, our region, and our churches. We will also be praying about what happens next for our churches.
This prayer morning will be using Zoom. Contact the Circuit Office for more information and for the Zoom meeting details.
Join us as we pray, reflect and seek God's will for the future of our churches with 24 hours of prayer.
May 2020 - Pentecost
Our virtual "Pentecost Praise and Prayer" event was held on Pentecost Sunday, 31st May 2020. There were two live-streamed sessions with suggestions for prayer activities in between. Recordings of the sessions will be available on our YouTube channel for a few days.
Suggestions for prayer and activities used between the session are in the PDF document available for download below.
May 2020 - 'Light in the Darkness'
This prayer day was a bit different! Due to the Coronavirus, we weren't able to meet together so instead we held a 'virtual' prayer day. Although praying in our own homes, we were praying ‘together’. We focused on particular themes and came together at specific times to share worship, prayer and reflections on live YouTube streams. We ended the day with a Wesleyan Love Feast led by Rev. Bruce Sawyer.
Recordings of the three live YouTube sessions are available on our YouTube channel for a few days (no longer available). Each session lasted for about 30 minutes, with a 5 minute Preview before each one.
We also had suggestions for prayer and activities in between the three sessions. These are in the PDF documents below:
Thank you for all your encouraging feedback. Apologies for the sound problems at the start of Session 2. We have corrected this for the recordings. Some of the feedback from the day is below.
"Very relevant and meaningful and special thanks for the children’s offering of worship."
"It gave us great encouragement as we are all together, but separate, in very difficult times."
"Although there was only the two of us, I really felt as if were there with you all."
"Today has been a very quiet and peaceful day for me in the presence of God. He has let my prayers flow; he has given me ideas for how things could change for the future not just with my life but with church as well and all for his glory."
"Thank you for inviting me to share in your prayer day. It has been both enlightening and uplifting. From laments to letting go, being in touch with witnessing and celebrating my first Love Feast!!"
Special thanks to Esther for sharing her artwork from the morning...
